The cost is the amount of slots they occupy on the Primary Spirit. The number of slots available is based on how many the Primary Spirit has available and determines the Support Spirits you are able to use. Support Spirits can only be equipped if you have a Primary Spirit on your team. Grab beats Shield. Having Spirits imbued with a Type that beats your opponent can increase your effectiveness, and in Spirit Battles. Each Primary Spirit has an associated Type: Attack, Shield, or Grab, or Neutral.
Primary Spirits feature 0 - 3 slots which allows them to be combined with Support Spirits. Leveling up a Spirit will increase its Power.
